I spend the majority of my time with few very close friends and family. I have always been one perfectly content spending time with my brothers and my dad watching a football game on a Saturday afternoon. Now my family has grown! I have an adorable nephew and a sweet sister-n-law. I am so thankful for the great relationship I have with my parents. I love it when we can go for long walks together and benefit from the exercise as well as share with one another the day's events. I have learned to truly appreciate our time together. My mom and I became very close when I began competition cheerleading and through my competition in the Miss America system. While she can be one of my worst critics, she is my biggest fan and has never doubted my abilities. She has pushed me to be all that I can possibly be. She believed in me when I doubted myself. My dad is my buddy and can always seem to make me laugh. He tells me stories all the time of the days he played baseball and of some of the lessons he has learned. Nothing makes him happier than seeing me do my best. My family has always been my "rock" and I know that they will always be there for me no matter what. When experiencing self-doubt, they were always there to keep me focused and on the right track. All of them will make whatever sacrifices necessary to help me achieve my goals. |

I am very active with my youth group at church and my faith is solid. I am confident there is a plan for my life even though it may not always be what I want at the time. I keep very busy with extra-curricular activities and rarely have time to get off track. I have cheered since I was 5 years old, both competitively and in school. In the last few years, I have developed a passion for dance. Dance challenges me to keep physically fit and allows me to express my emotions. In the near future, I plan to dance with my troop competitively. I am very involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, in the Drama Club, on Student Council and I am extremely conscientious about the grades.

I am goal driven and know what I want from my life and have a map for my future. During my quest, my parents have raised me to have a strong work ethic and to always remain humble and grounded. To some, my life may seem boring and one may think that I do not experience what a "normal" teenager may experience. I make the choice to experience positive things and make positive choices that are available to me and my life is very full. I have an incredible family unit who loves and supports me; I am an honor student; I have a few great friends; I am a state representative in the Miss America's Outstanding Teen program and by winning this, I have paid for my entire college education. When I look back on my life, I want to make sure that the choices I have made, even though sometimes the unpopular choices, are choices that I can be proud and will share with my children. I want to live a life of no regrets and say I did everything I could to reach my full potential. My mom and dad have always had a theory that they would do everything they could to give me every opportunity there was available, but I had to take that opportunity and give 100%. It has not been easy for me and my family, but I can truthfully say that the hard times have made the good times that much better! I would not be the person I am today if I had not gone through those challenging times that helped me build character. |
